~ Guru Granth Sahib Jee, Ang 62
With time and experience my understanding has deepened, though there is still a way to go. I first understood the above translation to mean that living in accordance with truth (truthful living) is more important than knowing the truth.
I equated truthful living to living an honest life, and for me personally striving to fulfil my purpose. My definition of this evolved when someone once boldly told me "follow your truth". Everyone is on their own journey, some of self-discovery. Everyone has their own truth to follow, what was mine? I remembered the mantra satnam = I am truth, and realised that by connecting with my true identity I can live my truth.
truthful living = connecting with my true identity
For now this feels right. Recognising the beauty in this, to be given the opportunity to uniquely experience the truth, and that it is not some unattainable thing.
This space serves a purpose to express and connect with meaning. Satnam.
